Juno Grey

A 1981 FJ40, one of the later models, taken back to bare metal and resprayed in a deep, muted slate grey — Toyota Juno Grey — set against the factory white hardtop. The result is purposeful and understated, exactly the kind of quiet confidence these later trucks wear so well.

Mechanically it keeps its original 4.2-litre 2F engine with its original three-speed gearbox and transfer case. The engine was stripped, treated to a full set of new gaskets and carefully reassembled, the carburettor rebuilt, and fresh spark plugs, plug leads and fuel hoses fitted throughout. A new Koyorad radiator keeps it cool, while a set of new Toyota front disc brakes with servo assistance brings it to a confident, modern stop.

It rolls on 16" OEM-style powder-coated steel wheels wrapped in Savero A/T tyres, with a custom semi-tartan and vinyl interior inside and a discreet integrated Bluetooth speaker system for the drive. Sold to a new owner in the North of England to dart between countryside villages, with the odd off-road jaunt when the mood takes. Shown here as an example of the work we do.
