Nebula Green

An earlier-model FJ40 commissioned by a Welsh automotive-parts manufacturer as a show car for their business. We restored it in 2020 with a full body-off, nut-and-bolt rebuild, finished in Nebula Green with a new canvas top and OEM parts throughout.

Mechanically it was brought up to easy everyday use: we swapped in the later 4.2-litre 2F engine while retaining its original three-speed gearbox and transfer case. The fuel system was fully restored, with the tank refurbished, all hoses replaced and the carburettor rebuilt. We added power steering, fitted Old Man Emu shocks front and rear, and completely overhauled the original drum brake system, mating it to a servo for confident stopping. It rides on colour-matched steel wheels wrapped in Goodyear MT tyres.

Inside, the tan vinyl bench seating sits against the body-colour cabin, finished with a custom rear coco-mat carpet. A Marshall Bluetooth speaker unit and cupholders were added for modern comfort, and period-correct hubcaps complete the look. A striking earlier model, restored and recommissioned as a genuine head-turner. Shown here as an example of the work we do.
